Almost every Indian takeaway in Fleet cooks from the same North Indian and Bangladeshi playbook — good food, but you have probably worked through all of it by now.
Ours is a South Indian kitchen. Dosas — crisp fermented rice and lentil crepes — served with coconut chutney and sambar. Chettinad, the black-pepper heat of Tamil Nadu. Andhra gongura, sharp with sorrel leaf. Kerala's Nadan Kozhi and Malabar prawn curry. Hyderabadi dalcha. Rice cooked with lemon or coconut rather than just pilau.
The clay oven runs at the same time for tikka, sheekh kabab and tandoori chops, and the familiar curries are all on the menu too — chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, dal makhani, biryani. Order a Mysore masala dosa, a tandoori mixed grill and a chicken tikka masala on one ticket. It arrives together, all cooked to order.
Most of the South Indian menu is vegetarian by default — dosa, uthappam, sambar and more among them.
