General Bilimoria’s Canteen – Terms of Service

Effective Date: 29 August 2025

1. About Us

General Bilimoria’s Canteen Limited (“GBC”, “we”, “our” or “us”) is a company incorporated in England and Wales with Company Number 14382937. Our registered office is at 9 Berners Place, London, United Kingdom, W1T 3AD. Our primary email contact is hello@gbcanteen.com, and our customer support number is +447826166539. Our VAT number is GB435224320.

We operate as an online food ordering and delivery platform. Our service connects you with restaurants and couriers so that you can place food orders through our website or app. While GBC manages the platform, payments and customer support, the restaurants are responsible for preparing food, and independent couriers are responsible for delivering it to you.

2. Purpose of Our Service

Our service is designed to make ordering food simple, safe, and convenient. Customers can browse menus, place and pay for orders securely, and track deliveries to their chosen address. The food you order is prepared by our partner restaurants, each of which meets GBC’s requirement of a four-star or higher customer rating at the time of onboarding. Delivery is handled by couriers who work with or through GBC.

It is important to understand that GBC does not itself prepare, cook, or package any food. We act only as an intermediary, ensuring that orders are processed, payments are managed securely, and deliveries are coordinated.

3. Your Account

To use our platform, you must create a customer account with accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised use, you must notify us immediately.

Accounts are for personal use only. Duplicate accounts, fraudulent activity, or abuse of promotional offers may result in suspension or termination of your account. By creating an account, you confirm you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract under the laws of England and Wales.

4. Service Availability

Our service depends on restaurant participation and courier availability. Some restaurants may not deliver to all addresses, and some areas may not be covered by our couriers. If your location is outside the available service area, you will be informed before placing an order.

Delivery times shown on the platform are estimates based on restaurant preparation and courier conditions. They are not guaranteed. Events such as traffic, weather, or high demand may affect delivery times. While we aim to deliver within the estimated time, GBC does not accept liability for delays beyond our reasonable control.

5. Orders

When you place an order through our platform, you are offering to purchase items from a restaurant. Your order is only confirmed once the restaurant accepts it. Restaurants may decline orders if they are unable to fulfil them due to shortages, high demand, or other operational issues.

Restaurants are responsible for the quality and safety of food. They must provide accurate information about ingredients and allergens. Customers with allergies or dietary restrictions should always check menu details carefully and, if necessary, contact our partner restaurant or GBC customer service directly before placing an order.

6. Delivery

Delivery of your order is carried out by couriers assigned to your order. While we give you an estimated delivery time, this is only an approximation and not a guarantee.

If delivery cannot be completed because you provided an incorrect address, failed to answer calls or messages, or the courier considers the location unsafe, the courier may leave the food in a safe location, return it to the restaurant, or dispose of it. In such cases, you will still be charged in full, and no refund will be provided.

To confirm successful delivery, couriers may collect evidence such as a photo, GPS timestamp, or digital confirmation.

7. Your Rights if Something Goes Wrong

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you are entitled to food that is safe to consume, of satisfactory quality, and as described on the menu.

If your order arrives materially incorrect, unsafe, or not as described, you must contact our customer support team within 24 hours of delivery. We may request photographs or other evidence to investigate your claim. If valid, we will offer a refund, replacement, or account credit at our discretion.

8. Cancellation and Refunds

If you cancel your order before it is accepted by the restaurant, you will receive a full refund. If your order has already been accepted and preparation has begun, you will not be entitled to a refund. In exceptional cases, we may issue account credits instead.

If a restaurant cancels your order, you will receive a full refund. If GBC cancels your order (for example, due to failed payment, courier unavailability, or safety concerns), you will also receive a full refund.

Because food is perishable, you do not have a general right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 once a restaurant has accepted your order.

9. Fraud and misuse

GBC utilises automated systems to monitor compensation history. Accounts that display a pattern of excessive claims, or claims submitted without required evidence, may be flagged. We reserve the right to suspend account access or refuse future service to any user suspected of policy abuse.

To protect our Partner Restaurants from fraudulent claims, GBC enforces a strict reporting window for all issues. Failure to report issues within this timeframe will result in the automatic denial of any compensation (voucher or otherwise).

Strict 4-Hour Reporting Window All issues regarding your order must be reported immediately upon discovery and strictly no later than 4 hours after the estimated delivery time.

  • • Scope: This applies to all complaints, including but not limited to: cold food, spills/damage, missing items, incorrect orders, or non-delivery.
  • • Reasoning: As hot food is a perishable good, we cannot verify its condition, "fitness for purpose," or the accuracy of the delivery contents after this short window has passed.

Mandatory Evidence Requirements We operate a "No Proof, No Voucher" policy. You must provide:

  • 1. Photographic Evidence: Clear photos of the damaged food, spill, or incorrect items received.
  • 2. Order Number: As listed on your receipt.
  • 3. Details: A brief description of the issue.

10. Prices and Payments

All prices displayed on our platform include applicable VAT and taxes. Your total bill may include food items, service fees, delivery charges, and optional tips.

You will always see the final payable amount before placing an order. Payment is collected at the time of ordering using the payment methods available on our platform.

Discounts, vouchers, or account credits must be applied before checkout. They cannot be added or refunded afterwards.

11. Tips

Tipping couriers is optional. Any tips you choose to add during checkout are passed directly to them and are non-refundable.

12. Our Responsibility

General Bilimoria’s Canteen is responsible for operating the platform, managing payments, and providing customer support.

We are not responsible for the preparation, quality, or safety of food (the responsibility of restaurants) or for delays caused by traffic, weather, or other events beyond our control. Nor are we responsible for problems caused by incorrect delivery information provided by you.

Our liability to you is limited to the value of the order in dispute. However, nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability which cannot be limited under UK law.

13. Data Protection and Privacy

We are committed to protecting your personal data. All information we collect is processed in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Details of how we collect, store, and use your data are set out in our Privacy Policy.

By using our platform, you consent to the processing of your personal information in accordance with these laws.

14. Compliance with UK Law

  • The Equality Act 2010; and
  • The UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing (CAP Code) is enforced by the ASA.

These terms do not affect your statutory rights.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you have a complaint, you should first contact our customer support team. If we are unable to resolve your issue, you may refer it to the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) or another approved Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider, as required by the ADR Regulations 2015.

16. Changes to Terms

We may amend these Terms of Service to reflect updates in law, improvements to our services, or operational changes. We will notify you of any significant updates via our platform or email. If you continue to use our services after changes take effect, you will be deemed to have accepted the revised terms.

17. Contact and Support

If you need assistance, you may contact us by email at hello@gbcanteen.com or by telephone at +447826166539.

18. Non-Excludable Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

General Bilimoria’s Canteen – Voucher & Account Credit Terms

Effective Date: 29 August 2025

1. Introduction

From time to time, General Bilimoria’s Canteen Limited (“GBC”, “we”, “our” or “us”) may issue promotional vouchers or account credits. Vouchers are promotional codes that provide discounts or other benefits when placing an order through our platform, while account credits are funds applied directly to a customer’s account, typically as a goodwill gesture, compensation, or refund.

Both vouchers and account credits (together, “Credits”) may only be redeemed against eligible orders placed through the GBC website or mobile application. Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and can only be used in accordance with these terms. If these Terms conflict with our Core Terms of Service, these Terms will govern in relation to vouchers and credits.

2. Voucher Terms

Vouchers are issued at our sole discretion and may be restricted to specific customers, locations, restaurants, or order types. Some vouchers may be made available only to new customers who have not previously registered with GBC, while others may apply only to particular promotions or events.

Each voucher will clearly display an expiry date. Once expired, a voucher can no longer be redeemed. Unless otherwise stated, only one voucher may be used per order, and vouchers cannot be combined with other promotions. Vouchers may also carry minimum order value requirements, and orders that do not meet those requirements will not be eligible for redemption. Vouchers and discount codes can only be used on orders above £30.

If an order placed with a voucher is cancelled, any voucher used will be forfeited and will not be reissued. Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash, nor can they be applied to service charges, delivery fees, or tips unless expressly stated at the time of issue.

3. Account Credit Terms

Account credits may be issued by GBC at our discretion. They may arise from customer service resolutions, refunds, or promotional campaigns. Credits are applied directly to your GBC account and can be used to pay for eligible orders.

Credits do not represent a cash balance and cannot be exchanged for money, transferred to another customer account, or used outside the GBC platform. Expiry dates may apply to account credits and will be specified at the time they are issued. Once expired, unused credits will be permanently removed and cannot be reinstated.

If your order exceeds the value of your available account credits, you must pay the remaining balance using another accepted payment method. If your order total is less than your available credits, the remaining balance will remain on your account until used or expired.

4. General Rules

Credits must be used in accordance with these terms and must not be misused. Any attempt to manipulate vouchers or account credits – including but not limited to creating multiple accounts, using automated tools or scripts, or engaging in fraudulent activity – may result in the cancellation of vouchers, removal of credits, and suspension or permanent closure of your GBC account.

GBC reserves the right to withdraw, amend, or discontinue vouchers or credits at any time, for any reason, with reasonable notice where possible. All decisions regarding eligibility, redemption, and suspected misuse rest solely with GBC and are final.

5. Liability

GBC will not be liable for any losses arising from the misuse, unauthorised use, or attempted redemption of vouchers or credits outside of these terms. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

6. Governing Law

These Voucher & Account Credit Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

General Bilimoria’s Canteen – Gift Card Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 29 August 2025

1. Introduction

These Terms apply to all gift cards (“Gift Cards”) issued by General Bilimoria’s Canteen Limited (“GBC”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By purchasing, receiving, or using a gift card, you agree to these terms in addition to our Core Terms of Service and Website Terms of Use.

Gift cards may be purchased directly through the GBC website or app and may also be distributed by approved third-party retailers or promotional partners. Gift cards are issued in digital form unless we expressly state that physical gift cards are available.

2. Purchasing Gift Cards

Gift cards may be purchased by both individual consumers and businesses registered in the United Kingdom. We may apply minimum or maximum order limits at our discretion, which will be communicated at the point of purchase.

Payment for gift cards must be made in full at the time of purchase. Digital gift cards will be delivered electronically to the email address provided at checkout. If we offer physical gift cards, they will be shipped through approved distribution channels and subject to additional delivery terms.

3. Refunds on Gift Cards

Purchases of gift cards by businesses are strictly non-refundable.

Individual consumers purchasing gift cards are entitled to a 14-day cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, provided that the gift card has not been redeemed in any way during that period. If a refund is approved, the gift card will be immediately cancelled and voided.

If a customer experiences issues with receiving or redeeming a gift card, they must notify us within 72 hours of purchase or delivery. Beyond this timeframe, we may be unable to investigate or issue remedies.

4. Redeeming Gift Cards

Gift cards may only be redeemed through the GBC platform against eligible food orders. They cannot be reloaded or topped up once purchased, nor can they be exchanged for cash.

Gift cards cannot be used to:

  • Buy other gift cards.
  • Pay for tips, service fees, or delivery charges unless expressly stated.
  • Be resold or transferred for commercial gain,
  • Be transferred between customer accounts once redeemed.

Only one gift card may be redeemed per order unless otherwise specified.

5. Expiry and Balance

Each gift card has an expiry date clearly displayed at the time of purchase or on the delivery email. After the expiry date, any remaining balance will be cancelled and cannot be refunded.

If a gift card is redeemed partially, the remaining balance will remain on the customer’s account until used or until expiry. Customers may check their balance by logging into their GBC account or contacting customer support.

6. Orders Exceeding or Below Balance

If an order exceeds the balance available on the gift card, the customer must pay the difference using another accepted payment method.

If an order is less than the gift card balance, the remaining funds will remain available on the account for future orders until expiry.

7. Cancelled or Failed Orders Paid with Gift Cards

If an order paid for using a gift card is cancelled and eligible for a refund under our Core Terms of Service, the refund will be issued as account credit rather than being reloaded onto the gift card.

Refunds will never be provided in cash for gift card purchases or gift card payments.

8. Lost, Stolen, or Misused Gift Cards

Gift cards should be treated like cash. GBC is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or unauthorised use of gift cards. Once a gift card has been issued, the customer is responsible for its safekeeping. We cannot replace or reissue gift cards that have been misused.

9. Fraud and Misuse

Gift cards obtained through fraudulent activity, resale, unauthorised promotional channels, or in violation of these terms may be cancelled without notice. Any customer involved in fraud or abuse of the gift card system may have their account suspended or terminated.

We reserve the right to take legal action in cases of deliberate fraud or misuse.

10. Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GBC is not liable for losses arising from the purchase, use, or misuse of gift cards, including loss of revenue, business, profits, goodwill, or reputation.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

11. Data Protection

When you purchase or redeem a gift card, we collect personal data such as your name, email address, and order information. This data is processed in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further details.

12. Governing Law

These gift card terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes or claims arising from them will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you cancel during a free trial, your access will end immediately and you will not be charged.

9. Cancellation by GBC

We may cancel or suspend your membership if you breach these terms, misuse membership benefits, or provide invalid payment information. If we cancel your membership for reasons unrelated to your breach, we may issue a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of your billing cycle.

10. Changes to GBC Club

We may update the benefits, structure, or rules of the GBC Club from time to time. If the changes are significant, we will notify you in advance. Continued use of your membership after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GBC is not liable for any loss of revenue, profits, or opportunities arising from your participation in GBC Club. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for your membership during the billing cycle in which the issue occurred.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability which cannot be excluded under UK law.

12. Governing Law

These Membership Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.

6. Responsibility of Partners

Participating restaurants and brands are responsible for fulfilling the elements of the Partner Offer that relate to their products or services, such as menu availability or product quality. While GBC facilitates the redemption of offers, we are not responsible for a partner’s failure to deliver the promised benefit.

If a partner fails to honor an offer, GBC will support you in resolving the issue but cannot guarantee alternative compensation unless explicitly offered at our discretion.

7. Withdrawal or Cancellation of Offers

We may withdraw, suspend, or amend Partner Offers at any time without liability, particularly if there are technical problems, misuse, or withdrawal by the participating partner. If an offer cannot be fulfilled, GBC may choose to issue account credits or an alternative benefit as a goodwill gesture, but this is not guaranteed.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GBC will not be liable for:

  • Losses or damages resulting from your use or inability to use a Partner Offer,
  • A partner’s failure to honour their obligations,
  • Indirect or incidental losses such as lost revenue, profits, or opportunities.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

9. Governing Law

These Partner Offer Terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

1. Introduction

The GBC Referral Program (“Program”) allows existing customers (“Referrers”) to invite new customers (“Referees”) to use General Bilimoria’s Canteen Limited (“GBC”, “we”, “our” or “us”). By participating in the Program, you agree to these Referral Program Terms in addition to our Core Terms of Service, Website Terms of Use, and Voucher & Account Credit Terms.

Referral rewards are intended to encourage genuine recommendations and must be used in good faith.

2. Eligibility

To participate as a referrer, you must have a valid GBC account and have completed at least one successful order. Referees must be new customers who have not previously registered with GBC or placed an order using any other account.

The program is open only to individuals for personal use. Businesses, resellers, and accounts suspected of commercial activity are not eligible.

3. Referral Process

Each referrer will receive a unique referral link or code. Referees must use this link or code when creating their account and must place their first eligible order through the GBC platform.

Once the referee completes a qualifying order, the referrer will receive a referral reward in the form of account credit or a discount code applied to their GBC account. The referee may also receive a new customer discount if specified at the time of referral.

4. Rewards

Referral rewards will be clearly communicated at the time of issue and may vary depending on promotional campaigns. Rewards are applied as account credits, which are subject to the Voucher & Account Credit Terms.

Referral credits:

  • Have no cash value.
  • Cannot be exchanged for money.
  • Cannot be transferred between accounts,
  • May be subject to expiry dates.

The maximum number of referrals per customer may be capped, and details of such caps will be published on the Program page or in the referral offer.

5. Restrictions

You must not:

  • Post referral links or codes on coupon websites, deal forums, or other public platforms where you do not have a personal connection with the referee.
  • Use paid advertising, bots, or automated systems to distribute referral codes.
  • Create multiple accounts, fake accounts, or otherwise attempt to manipulate the program.

Referrals that breach these restrictions will be disqualified, and any rewards may be removed. GBC reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts involved in misuse.

6. Termination and Withdrawal

We may suspend, amend, or terminate the Referral Program at any time, without liability. If the Program is terminated, any referral credits already issued will remain valid until their expiry date but no further rewards will be granted.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GBC accepts no liability for losses arising from participation in the Program, including but not limited to technical issues, referral link errors, or disputes between Referrers and Referees.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

8. Governing Law

These Referral Program Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.

  • Infringing upon intellectual property rights, including copyright or trademarks;
  • In violation of privacy, confidentiality, or data protection rights;
  • Posted in exchange for incentives, payments, or discounts (unless clearly disclosed and permitted by law).

General Bilimoria’s Canteen – Review Community Guidelines

Effective Date: 29 August 2025

1. Why Reviews Matter

At General Bilimoria’s Canteen (“GBC”), reviews help shape our community. They allow customers to make better decisions, give restaurants valuable feedback, and ensure that the food delivered is held to high standards. Reviews should be genuine, respectful, and helpful to others. These guidelines explain how we expect customers to behave when posting reviews, ratings, or comments.

2. Be Honest and Fair

We ask all customers to write reviews that reflect their own personal experience. Please do not post reviews on behalf of others or describe events that you did not personally take part in. If your order was positive, let others know what stood out. If something went wrong, explain what happened factually and clearly.

3. Keep It Respectful

Feedback is welcome whether it is good or bad, but it must be shared respectfully. Reviews must not include:

  • Insults, offensive language, or harassment;
  • Hate speech or discriminatory remarks based on race, religion, gender, disability, or any other protected characteristic;
  • Personal attacks directed at restaurants, couriers, GBC staff or fellow customers.

Respectful reviews help keep the platform safe and constructive for everyone.

4. No Fake or Incentivised Reviews

Reviews must always reflect genuine experiences. You must not:

  • Post reviews in exchange for free food, discounts, money, or other incentives.
  • Request others to post reviews on your behalf.
  • Create multiple accounts to inflate ratings, or
  • Post reviews to unfairly lower a restaurant’s rating.

We take manipulation of reviews seriously and may suspend or remove accounts that misuse the system.

5. Stay Relevant

Reviews should focus on what matters to other customers — the food, the delivery, the packaging, and the overall service. Please avoid posting unrelated content such as political commentary, personal disputes, or issues not connected to your order.

6. No Harmful or Inappropriate Content

Reviews must not contain content that is illegal, harmful, or unsafe. This includes:

  • Sexually explicit or obscene material,
  • Content promoting violence, drugs, or dangerous behaviour,
  • Disclosure of private information such as addresses, phone numbers, or personal emails.

Any content that breaches these rules may be removed.

7. Be Timely

Reviews are most useful when they reflect recent experiences. If your review is about an order from a long time ago, it may no longer be relevant to other customers. For this reason, we may remove reviews that are more than one year old or that no longer represent our current service.

8. Moderation and Enforcement

We monitor reviews to ensure they meet these guidelines. GBC may remove or edit reviews that break the rules, restrict visibility, or suspend accounts in serious or repeated cases. Restaurants are allowed to reply to reviews, but they cannot edit or delete them.

9. Reporting Reviews

If you see a review that appears unlawful, harmful, or otherwise in breach of these Guidelines, you can report it to us. Please provide details of the issue, and we will investigate. If appropriate, we may remove the content, restrict access, or take further action.

10. Final Note

Reviews are an important way for our customers to share their voices and experiences. By following these guidelines, you help us build a fair, respectful, and trustworthy food delivery community. Thank you for keeping GBC a safe and reliable place for everyone.
